Ken's Page

Ken Guy of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, recently made a road trip to ol' Toad Hall here in Corn Patch. He's true Southern Gentleman and a fast friend. (Yeah, I know that he'll tell you that anybody who brings Moon Pies to my shop is my friend.) If you're not familiar with Ken, a.k.a. "Packdog", you'll find that he has his own website and is a student of and a competent builder of Southern Mountain rifles. There is a link to his website on th' LINKS PAGE.  We spent the time in the shop discussin' th' arts and mysteries of the craft, swapped some building tips, told lies and generally had a great time philosophizin'.  'Course, eatin' Moon Pies an' other delectable goodies was derigor. After meeting the local denizens who haunt th' shop of an evening, I think he was a wee bit wary of our alleged collective sanity, ah but I digress.  Ken learned how to make Southern double set triggers and did a fine job.  His first set really thumped well and his later sets look like a million dollars!  Here's a few shots around the shop of his visit.

Bookie on th' left.  Ken on th' right.  Two professional BS......'er,  philosophers, if ever you seen one, eh?

Ken finally got to rifle a barrel.  Actually, he got to do two!  They turned out just fine.

Here's Ken smokin' me outta the Yeller Tomcat Forge.  Cough.  Hack.  Cough. He's hammering out a grip rail cough in the East Tennessee style.

Lookit that smug look on'is face!  You don't suppose that he is proud of his work and had some fun while he was at it?  You should have seen the look on his face when some gas built up in the tuyre and finally exploded.  Shoot, I can still hear th' ringin' in his ears!

Ken's hand made, double set, single phase triggers.  Look pretty dern good, don't they!

I'll update the photos over time so you can see Ken's progress on certain projects and  the fruits of his fertile mind.
