Our Church
In
Faith
Very often a visitor at Trinity will have questions
about what
we believe
and teach as Christians. Our response would touch on these key areas:
God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Man is sinful and cannot save
himself
from the
consequences of sin and its guilt
Jesus is the promised Savior, the
Messiah: true
God, begotten of the Father from eternity and also true Man, born of
the
Virgin Mary
Christ died and rose again to
forgive
man's sin
The Church is people, forgiven in
Christ, who love Jesus and reflect His Love to one another and to the
world around them. We
are imperfect reflections, because we all struggle with sin and daily
need
God's forgiveness
The Bible is God's Inspired and Inerrant
Word,
given to us through the prophets and apostles of our Lord, a Word that
we
can and do trust in its entirety
Everyone needs to hear the Good
News of God's Love in Jesus Christ
In
Purpose
Sharing
our
Faith: Our reason for being can be capsulized in
Christ's
words: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching then
to
obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to
the very end of the age." Matthew 28: 19-20
In
Living
& Encouragement
There are
several
groups and
activities throughout the year to encourage and promote Christian
fellowship
and fun within our congregation. Church picnics, special suppers,
retreats,
gatherings, Lutheran Women Missionary League, Aid Association for
Lutherans,
and Boy Scouts are just a few of the activities regularly planned.
Guests
and visitors are always welcome!
In
Learning
Not only
children
but also
youth and adults are invited and encouraged to deepen their
relationship with
Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Sunday
School
and Bible Classes for children 3 years and older, youth and
adults.
Adult
Information
Class -- An in-depth Bible Study, led by our pastor, covering
the
major Christian teachings of Scripture. This class is for people
considering
membership in our church who have questions about what Confessional
Lutherans
believe. It is also a good review of basic Biblical and historical
teachings
of the Christian faith.
Confirmation Classes -- This is
an
instruction
and fellowship program for youth in grades five through eight. We seek
to
strengthen their grasp and understanding of Bible Stories and the major
teachings
of God's Word. We recognize that the most important and influential
instruction
they receive will almost always be their Christian home. We seek to
support
and complement such faithful and individualized instruction.
Weekday Bible Study Classes --
Small
groups regularly
meet in homes or at church for Bible Study, sharing, support, growing
and
prayer.
Youth -- Trinity's youth ministry
seeks
to involve 6th-12th graders in the total life of the congregation
through special groups, service projects, retreats, gatherings, special
events and ministry to individuals. Not only are the youth a part of
the church today, they are also the church of tomorrow, and we seek to
prepare them for leadership roles. Our Junior and Senior Youth
ministries seek to involve parents and adults, for without them the
youth ministries would not happen.
