SALEM PIONEER OLD SETTLERS
One of the longest continually running events in the state of Iowa
Celebrating a 120 Years
Salem Pioneer Old Settlers is one of the oldest and most widely known and almost prevalent organizations in the Salem community
today. Although it is not chronologically the oldest, it traces its beginnings back to 1883. It has functioned continuously with wide popularity throughtout the years,
holding annual celebrations during the latter part of August. Former Salemites still come today from all parts of the country to join in the annual festivities and to visit with old friends and relatives.
One only has to attend one of these celebrations to revel in the aura of nostalgia as old times are dredged up and discussed and acquaintance renewed.
SALEM OLD SETTLERS COMMITTEE IS TAKING ORDERS FOR THEIR COLORFUL MEMORABLE AFGHAN.
