First on the agenda was to elect new officers to fill the treasurer and secretary positions. The new treasurer is Susie Kuhens,
and the new secretary is Sheila Carr, they will each hold office for three years.

It was voted on and approved to disperse the Raffle money ($1038.00) in the following way:

  2. Salem School Carnival - $300.00 ( to be given in March)
  3. Mt. Pleasant Band - $300.00 (towards one new uniform)
  4. Children Picnic Table - $288.00 (saved to be earmarked for next year)
Treasurer's report was given by Susie Kuhens. Checking account (as of 11-14-03) $4035.56 Savings Account
(as of 11-14-03) $4750.18.    One bill from Kramers Gas & Grocery (9-14-03) was submitted for payment.

It was voted on and approved to lower the cookbooks to $6.00. Doris Onorato will check to see how many are left to sell..

After the first of the year (2004), Cindy Nichting and Jenny Wade will work on getting in touch with Tom and Nancy
Evans owners of the Evans United Shows out of Plattsburg, Mo. Box 126. Carolyn McLeland will check the internet for more information on contacting them.

There is some concern as to who cashed the check for the 1st Place Float (King & Queen). The check has been cashed,
but not by the float winners. Susie Kuhens will contact the bank to get a copy of the signature on back of check for more information.

It was voted and approved to leave the money in the savings account at this time and not to put it in the Christmas club account.

Susie Kuhens will call B & B Gas to have the burner on the bean pot fixed. She will get with Dick Myers to get key for shelter or have him open it for them.

It was voted and approved to place the ad on KILJ radio to sell the tapestry. Doris Onorato will check to see how many
we have for sale. Also, Cindy Nichting brought it to the committee's attention that a sign with contact information needs
to be placed on the tapestry hanging in the Century. Carolyn Mcleland suggested hanging the tapestry close to the raffle table so people will know it is for sale.

Cindy Nichting will go to the council meeting December 2, 2003 to ask permission to place a stone bench in the park in memory of Marjorie Glanzman and Marjorie Brown and Old Settlers. She will also ask permission to place a children's picnic table in the play area of the park in memory of Dr. Austin Brill and Old Settlers.

Doris Onorato made a correction of the cost of the stone bench memorial that is on hold pending council decision. The cost is quoted as $1060.00.

Cindy Nichting announced that she has already confirmed Gary Septer and Midnight Crystal for our sound in the park for 2004 Salem Old Settlers. His fee will be $580.00 minus $30.00 for his ad on our poster.

Cindy Nichting has been checking into a band for 2004 entertainment, Their name is Danny Mathius & the Outlaws. They are a little rock and mostly country. The cost will be $ 600.00 for three hours. There was some concern that three hours would be too long. This will be discussed more later on.
