Faith Sharing: What concrete things do you do to nourish your faith? Parish Happenings: Wednesday Women’s Group will meet at Linda Steinkamp’s home in October from 9 am – 10:45 am. Contact Valerie Fakler 712-852-6852 to join. The CD of A is celebrating National CD of A Sunday on Oct. 18th. The theme is “For in Him, we live and move and have our being,” as we continue to pray for vocations. The CD of A will be holding their WRAP campaign, White Ribbons Against Pornography the weekend of Oct. 24th & 25th. Ribbons will be available before and after all masses that weekend. School Board Meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20th. Religious Education –Class is Wednesday, Oct. 21st from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm for grades K-8. JAM is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18th from 6pm – 7pm in the JAM room at the Parish Center. RCIA meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. The collection for World Mission Sunday is this weekend. We recommit ourselves, along with all Catholics to the call we heard at Baptism, to share our faith, to be missionaries. Server Training will be taking place after 8:00 am mass on Sunday, Oct. 25th will a meal to follow after 10:00 am mass. Pro-Life

News HOPE Certificates will be sold after all masses the weekend of Nov. 14th & 15th. Grandparents Day will be held on Friday, Oct. 23rd at the Catholic School from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm. The Msgr. Lafferty Foundation was able to give 30 scholarships to ECS students last year due to your generous gifts, our goal this year is $27,896.00. Your donation comes with a state tax credit of 65% and possibly a federal tax credit. Forms are available at the back of church or at the school or parish offices. Contact Jean Hyslop or Fr. We pray that God may protect all unborn babies and their mothers and keep them safe from the scourge of abortion. “A Quick Journey Through the Bible”. This is an 8 part introduction into the Timeline Learning System, giving the learner a brief overview of salvation history. Classes are being offered Wednesday evenings 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm beginning Nov. 11th and Thursday mornings 8:30 am – 9:30 am beginning Nov. 12th. Cost is $20.00 to cover the cost of materials. Beginning Experience of Northwestern Iowa, there is a special loneliness for those who find themselves single again. But now there’s help, Beginning Experiences will be holding their next weekend for divorced, widowed, or separated persons on November 6-8, 2009 at Camp Okoboji. Through talks, group dialogue, and personal reflection, persons of all faiths have an opportunity for growth, healing and closure on the past in order to begin anew. Guidelines recommend that participants be widowed at least one year, divorced at least six months or separated 6-9 months prior to divorce. Contact the Adult Ministries Office at 712-233-7523 for applications or information. Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend is hosting their Annual Turkey & Pie Supper on Sunday, Oct. 18th from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Cost is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 10 and under at the door. Lakeside Lutheran Home is sponsoring “Oktoberfest” on Friday, Oct. 23rd from 2 pm- 4pm in the dining room.
