Rayma & Wayne Huggins invite you to the Fellowship Hour this Sunday to hear about En Nomber de Christo (Mission to the Poor).  This group is currently working in Renosa, Mexico.

 

Golden Age Senior Center requests you join them for a special evening meal with social time, door prizes and entertainment on Tuesday, March 16th.  Door opens at 4:45pm.  RSVP by Monday March 15th at noon.  927-5473. The meal is spaghetti, garlic bread, coleslaw, relishes, and lime dessert. Senior Meals are on a contribution basis.

First Communion Classes for all 4th graders will continue on March 11,18, and 25 in the Fellowship Hall.  The March 11 & 18 meetings will be from 6:30-7:30pm.  March 25 will be from 6-8pm.  At that meeting there will be acolyte training and rehearsal for their first communion on Maundy Thursday, April 1st.  Leading the classes will be Tim & Pam Burke with help from Sheila Tibbott and Dawn Askeland. Acolyte training will be led by Kathy Moorhouse and Karen Hartman.

Hope Lutheran Church Annual Auction, Littleport, Iowa will be Sunday, March 7th  at 12:00 approximately.  This will be after 10:30 am services.  WELCA will serve a lasagna lunch (free will offering) and the Auction will follow.  There will also be Hope Hand Cranked Homemade Ice Cream.  See poster in Narthex.

 

The Wartburg College Wind Ensemble will be performing a concert in the Hanson Auditorium at 7pm on Saturday evening, March 20th.  The students (about 60) will be staying the night.  On Sunday morning small ensembles will be participating in the worship services in various local churches.  Brenda Crumpton is arranging housing for the students.  Anyone interested in hosting, please contact Brenda at bcrumpton@mchsi.com or 927-3997.  Please check out the enclosed Wartburg flyer to see if you can help in any way.  Thank You!

 

Spanish Lessons:  There will be Spanish lessons given to people going or interested in going to Guatemala this summer (or any other time).  We will meet on Monday night at 7:30 in the Fellowship Hall at First Lutheran.  Come join us.  Ken Hart
