DEFINITION OF 'GOSSIP' FROM THE DICTIONARY:

        1. Trifling, often groundless rumor, usually of a personal,
            sensational, or intimate  nature.

        2. A person who habitually engages in such talk.

        3. Trivial, chatty talk or writing.

I’m reminded of a priest who instructed one such sinner for repentance:
“Go home, take a butchering knife and a feather pillow, climb upon the roof of your house and tear the pillow with the knife. Then, return to me”.

When she returned, the priest inquired, “Did you follow my instructions?”, to which she replied affirmatively. The priest asked what happened?. She replied that the wind had scattered feathers all over the neighborhood.

The priest continued with his instructions for her absolution. “Now, go and gather up all those feathers”, to which she replied “But that is impossible!”.

Keep this in mind when you feel the urge to gossip.
