Call Committee Update
It has been rumored that Pastor Rabary attends and has been present at all of our call committee meetings. This rumor is factually incorrect. Pastor Rabary DOES NOT attend our meetings. This would be unethical and a conflict of interest. It has also been rumored that the call committee had been dissolved and that the call process was finished. This rumor is also factually incorrect. While it seems that the call process is taking “too long”, we would like to remind you that we have only been meeting for approximately 14 months. The call committee is open minded, diligently engaged in the call process, and truly seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit. We take very seriously our task at hand.
Currently, the call committee continues to meet and has started the next step in the call process. The committee has requested that the synod begin a formal search for candidates that may be interested in First Lutheran Church. The committee chair spoke with Pastor Darrel Gerrietts, assistant to the bishop, and he said that it may take some time but hopes to have some names of potential candidates by the end of February. We have requested that Pastor Rabary, now officially rostered, be included in this list of names of potential candidates.
We look forward to reviewing all candidates recommended by the Northeastern Iowa Synod and ask for your much needed prayers in this process. Please contact Mick Crumpton (mcrumpton(~mchsi.com) with any questions or concerns.
