Hunting Late Season Snows
Freelance is a small guide service in the Midwest that has been guiding hunters since the inception of the Late Snow Goose Season in 1996. In the last seven years, we have hosted hundreds of hunters and shot thousands of geese. We hunt the Late Snow Goose Season in the area of Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge and Mound City, Missouri. We hunt over 1200 decoys in field spreads and/or heated pit blinds over water. We use the electronic callers and provide our hunters with very comfortable low-profile lounge chairs. The season usually runs from the first week in February to April 15th. In order to hit the peek migration, we generally hunt the third Saturday in February thru the third week in March. In seven spring seasons, our average has been 15 to 17 birds per day. Be very skeptical if another guide service tells you their average is a lot higher. Reservations: All hunts must be reserved in advance with a 50% deposit per day. Balance is due upon arrival. Party Size: We hunt 6 hunters. A party with less than 6 will be grouped with another party. Hotel accomodations will be furnished upon request. Freelance Guide Service offers a fully guided 3/4-day hunt that's flexible in order to get hunters in front of birds! Fee: $135 per day/per hunter. We hunt until 2PM each day. If a party on the day of the hunt decides to stay out till 5:30PM, there will be an additional fee of $20.00 per hunter for your guide. If for some reason your hunt in cancelled by your guide (snow storm, not enough geese), your deposit will be applied to a future hunt. In Missouri, the license fee for non-residents is $6.00. Also, the daily bag limit for Snow Geese is unlimited. Dates always fill fast so don't delay!
