Colesburg City Parks
In 1990 Colesburg citizens banned together to form
the Colesburg Economic Development Group. (CEDG) To commence their
efforts toward the betterment of Colesburg, classes were attended
to determine a direction. A community survey was completed and
two primary objectives were defined. One being to improve city
streets and the other to provide an outlet for the energy of our
small community's youth. The city took to improving our streets
and the CEDG set their sites on our youth. A decision was made
to purchase a small tract of land on the NW side of town and build
a recreational park for youth as well as adults.
The fruits of these labors has produced a beautiful
park area. It features a softball diamond, enclosed with chain
link fence, electronic scoreboard in center field, bleachers,
concession stand, complimented by shelter with picnic tables,
batting cage, ample parking space, and lights for evening games.
Other features included in the park are: regulation
size tennis court enclosed with chain link fencing; sand volley
ball court, jungle gym with two slides, flush rest rooms, drinking
fountain, shelter with picnic tables and grill, 30 foot lighted
flag pole, the charm of flowers, shrubbery, and trees throughout
the park (from the Trees Forever program) adds attractiveness
to the area.
The facilities are put to use by the Ed-Co School district,
as well as boys and girls Little League teams, family gatherings
and club picnics.
Along with the generous donations the primary fund
raisers include our annual 4th of July celebration and parade,
with games and entertainment for both young and adult. Our Labor
Day annual Golf Outing at the Lone Pine Country Club, sponsored
by Farmers Savings Bank. The bank matches all entry fees and provides
a steak supper and prizes. During the Christmas Holidays, the
CEDG sponsors a raffle, with prizes donated by the business places.

Pride Park
The Pride Park was started with the
F-troop ( a group of retired men) tearing down an old filing station,
then Trees Forever got involved with many citizens of the community
who planned this little park situated on Main Street. Judith Olson,
contacted members of the Garden Club and with grant money and
other funds the ladies started many hours of hard work. The American
Legion Post #582 bought and erected the Memorial monument. A Gazebo
and light pole was purchased to conclude the beauty of the park.
Each season, flowers bloom from Spring to Fall thanks to many
helping hands.Stop in and sit for a while in our Gazebo, and enjoy
the fruits of hard work!
City Park
This was the first park in Colesburg,
where the children of the community gathered to play ball and
other games. Part of this park was sold to Every's Auto &
Tire, following the completion of the new Recreational Park, but
children and adults still use the playground equipment and shelter.
