At a special organizational meeting on March 30, 1948, the Constitution and Bylaws of the Colesburg Community Club were adopted. Eighty nine men were present at this meeting, as membership was open to any resident of Colesburg and surrounding vicinity. Dues were set at $3 each, and an Executive Committee was appointed.

 

The first project of this Club was  the organizing a town picnic , with the purpose of raising funds for community improvements .During the years to follow, the commercial club made many improvements and additions to the town, through their yearly fund raisers, dues and donations. In 1987 they started the Miss Colesburg Contest, selecting a girl from this area, who is a student at  Ed-Co High School, to represent out town in various events throughout the year. The present day Commercial Club is still very active in community affairs, and sponsors the following events each year:

2005 CALENDAR


JANUARY:  Annual Meeting and Soup Supper, at the Lone Pine Country Club, with    election of Officers and Board Members.


APRIL Annual Easter Egg Hunt, at the Colesburg Recreational Park at 10:00 a.m.


JUNE Crowning of Miss Colesburg; at the Community Center at 6 p.m.


JULY 4:  Lunch Stand at Fire Station at 11:30 a.m.;  Parade at 2 p.m.;     activities in the afternoon for children of all ages: Fireworks at Dusk.


NOVEMBER :    Annual Turkey Drawing;  Community Center : 10:30 a.m.


DECEMBER:          Christmas Lighting Contest


DECEMBER   Annual Christmas Give-A-Way;  Ed-Co Elementary School; 10:00 a.m.
