Dorothy is a direct descendant of  Augustus MCDONALD.  Augustus was probably born in Pennsylvania but some time in his early life came to the area around Washington and Jefferson Counties, Missouri.  His son, James Odus, married Sophia WOOLEY in Lawrence County, Missouri.  From there they moved to Stone County, Arkansas.  Their daughter, Samantha, after losing her first husband, Grene Blalack, moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she later married Steward Newcomer.  These were the parents of Dorothy.  Therefore you will find many of the names on this list overlap with names on the WOOLEY descendants list.

We have made James McDonald the starting point for this family.  However, we have no proof that he was the father of Augustus.  Augustus is the the known head of this branch of the McDonalds and ancestor to the line as we have it.  To help you follow Dorothy's line they are colored green.
